If You Were a Crayon …

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?  Feel free to comment below.  As for me, I would be Dandelion.

Today’s photo is because I love crayons.  Always have.  School supplies are already in the stores and so I bought myself a new box of 24 crayons.  I have tons of colored pencils and I use them, too, but there’s nothing like the feel and smell of a new box of crayons.  Go buy yourself and box and see what I mean.  See if a ton of childhood memories don’t come flooding in when you get a whiff of those wonderful wax sticks.  Below are some really cool quotes that I found about crayons. Namaste’

I consider myself a crayon…I might not be your favorite color, but one day you’re going to need me to complete your picture … ~Anonymous

Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon.  A happiness weapon.  A beauty bomb.  And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one.  It would explode high in the air – explode softly – and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air.  Floating down to earth – boxes of Crayolas.  And we wouldn’t go cheap, either – not little boxes of eight.  Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in.  With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest.  And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination.  ~Robert Fulghum

Life is about using the whole box of crayons.  ~RuPaul

If you want an interesting party sometime, combine cocktails and a fresh box of crayons for everyone. ~Robert Fulghum

And my very favorite …

Lying in bed would be an altogether perfect and supreme experience if only one had a colored pencil long enough to draw on the ceiling. ~G.K. Chesterton

  1. Very few things in life beat the scent of a new box of crayons. Your picture inspired me to go to the crayola website. Things have certainly changed, but in this case only for the better. The more colors and coloring toys kids have the better. Thanks for the fun post.

  2. I love crayons too! The smell does bring back beautiful memories. I have always favored purple, but I love all colors. I appreciate the beautiful vibrant colors in nature! Lately they seem to be more and more amazing! I love the idea of crayon “bombs’. I believe the world would be a better place if we could all remember the innocence and fun of being a child! Being creative is our nature 🙂 Namaste

  3. Oh dear Regina, I am crazy with pen, pencils and crayon too… I think if I were a crayon I would be blue one 🙂 I always want to paint the seas, and skies… 🙂 In these days what I see on Google travel in craft ideas, they melt crayon pencils with blow dryer on a paper… they all melt and become an art, at least a background for a picture or project… Fascinated this idea. Want to try one day… Thank you, this is so nice post, I haven’t known all these nice quotes about them. Love, nia

  4. Gina, I love this blog today. The quotes, are right on. I love
all the colors you mentioned, at the end. Mauve has always
been one of my favorites. Looking at the colors all seem’s so
    magical.
