Today while out and about I spied this lone saguaro. It seemed to say “take my picture” so I did. I added a couple of special effects. Might make this one into a greeting card. Enough said. Namaste’
Hello! Meet my new friend … Weechy. It’s not often I make a new friend but lo! and behold, there she was in all her icky glory when we went to Home Depot. She’s actually a life-size version, selling for $99.00. Wow! I love Halloween decorations but I think I’ll stick to those paper bats and spider webs. And or course, carving a real pumpkin.
Halloween is right around the corner. Namaste’
No, I didn’t scale this mountain, which is part of the Santa Catalina range. As you can see, it’s a lot of rock but I thought the shot came out good because of the light. I did zoom in to get as close as I could without losing focus. No tripod; I was in the parking lot of Taco Bell across the street. Yep, we did the taco thing again 🙂
I’m liking how the late afternoon light is looking these days. Our sky is going back to being bright blue again. Less moisture at least for a few days. You can tell that Autumn is in the air (even though it was 101 here today). Happy Autumn Equinox! Namaste’
WS found this pine cone in our back yard not too long ago. I just now decided to photograph it.
One would think that there aren’t pine trees in southern AZ but there are … at a higher elevation than where we live. So how did this pine cone end up in our yard? (We don’t have any pine trees on our property at all). Was it carried by an owl, a hawk or some other large bird? Could be … still a mystery to me. Namaste’
I bought this horse hair angel several years ago in Tombstone, AZ. My friends and I were doing the tourist thing and we spotted this beautiful piece. The horse hair is from the mane and tail of horses that are being groomed. The hair falls out naturally and is collected to be fired into the mold with the plaster, clay or whatever material is used for the piece. This was taken with my Nikon Coolpix P510. Click to enlarge.
I love this angel. Namaste’
Did you ever notice that numbers are in just about everything? Calendars, checkbooks, weights and measures, passwords, keyboards, books, rulers, cell phones, e-readers, and of course, calculators, just to name a few. Do you remember when we had to learn our addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and fractions without the use of a calculator? I remember memorizing and being quizzed on the multiplication tables. Wow! The good old days. Now everyone uses a calculator. Namaste’
For several years now I’ve been following some information about whether we’re alone here on planet Earth … or not. In some circles I’m referred to as a “new ager” and that’s OK. Call me whatever you want but I believe we’re absolutely headed for a new age. It seems to me that we can’t keep doing what we’ve been doing to our beloved planet and to each other for much longer.
For those who believe that Earth is just a rock with no soul or spirit of her own, you might want to stop reading now. For the rest of you, take 18 minutes to check out the video link below the photo. This video gives some insight about who we are and what’s going to happen. It may shock you; it may not. I welcome any comments you might have on this subject.
My photo for the day is a bottle of wine that I thought was pretty cool, so I shot the picture. Seems I’m not the only one thinking of New Age. The photo shows the painting of the woman, which is on the inside of the bottle and the words are on the outside. It’s an Argentine wine that tastes of chardonnay and pinot grigio.
