The Perfect Poison

I just added a new post to my other blog about the addictive substances in our wheat.  I hope that it might be helpful to all of you, my faithful readers.  And because I love you all for following my blog, here’s a rose for you.  And for my dear friend, Rose, who happens to be in the hospital right now.  Sending you lots of love, light and prayers, my friend.  Namaste’

Happy Birthday to Hubby & Sis

Happy Birthday to my hubby and his twin sister.  Nobody’s telling their age but I think they both look great.  Carryl was born a whole half hour before Darryl.  And as babies, the story goes that he was always stealing her bottle.

There’s two to wash, two to dry;
There’s two who argue, two who cry….
There’s two to kiss, two to hug;
And best of all, there’s two to love!

Weekly Photo Challenge: In the Background

With the weekly photo challenge titled “in the background” I had no choice but to photograph my roses in the mirror.  Yes, there I am in my bathroom behind the flowers (don’t laugh).  It was the best mirror I had in the house without standing on a stool and balancing the roses with one hand while taking the photo with another.  And that was just not going to happen 🙂

Hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.  Remember why we celebrate Memorial Day.  It’s really not about the backyard BBQ’s, beer and hotdogs.  It’s remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us in this country.  Namaste’

The Fan

Me and Daisy were lying on the bed the other day looking up at the ceiling and the thought crossed my mind to photograph the fan.  Why?  I don’t know but I did it.  Interesting attempt to try and catch something in motion with a phone camera and now on my list of stress-reducers 🙂

Hope you all are having a beautiful day.  Namaste’

So You Had a Bad Day?

Let’s face it.  Every single one of us on this planet has had a bad day at least once, right?  OK, raise your hand if you’ve had one more than once.  Yeah, I see you out there.  Ya’all raised your hand, didn’t you?  Well, join the club.

Here’s my friend, Funky Monkey Muse.  Remember her?  I caught her playing with Daisy’s happy face ball and realized she must have been having a bad day.  So I told her it was alright and that Daisy wouldn’t mind.  Then she smiled at me and I snapped her picture.

She wishes you smiles and happiness and says that if you have a bad day, just refer back to this post and know that things will get better soon.  (She also whispered to me “if this doesn’t make your readers smile, then they need to check their pulse.”)  I guess she still has just a wee bit of cynicism.  Sorry.  Namaste’

Escape

This week’s photo challenge is ESCAPE.  I took this shot last year during my 366 project and believe it depicts what we all think about from time to time.  Escape from jobs, toxic relationships, illness, worrying about what others think, keeping up with the Joneses’, negative people, and the list goes on.

What do YOU want to escape from?  Click the link below the photo for an awesome video.  Namaste’

Stargazer

Well, she’s at it again.  Taking images of flowers.  Why?  Because blooms don’t blink and they make me feel good when I look at them.  So here’s some images of my latest bunch of Stargazer lilies.  Namaste’

One of the great joys in my life is knowing the universe is so much bigger than anything I can conceive, in knowing that miracles (or what we call miracles) reside right on the other side of the veil I’ve imposed with my very limited brain.

As cool as the brain is, a veritable network of neural pathways, it actually puts up a tremendous barrier to Truth. It limits, it takes all the available input and boils it down to what I call “Cliff Notes for Dummies.” Sadly, our Cliff Notes are restricted to what we’ve decide to let in, to what we’ve erroneously pick up from our culture, our family upbringing and the six o’clock news.

As the Course in Miracles says we would…

Meet My Mom – 90 Years Young

I know, I know! It’s been a while since I’ve been to the blogosphere, but life and my business have kept me out of trouble 🙂

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day and I want to wish all the Moms out there a blessed and joyous day.  Being a mom is really hard work and who says it stops when the young-uns leave the nest?  And who says there should only be one day a year to honor Mom?

Anyway, I’ll be spending tomorrow with this lovely lady and my hubby.  Mom doesn’t really like to have her picture taken, so I snapped this with my phone last weekend.  I think she looks pretty good for being 90.  Maybe I’ll look this good when I’m her age.  One can hope, right?

Wish I could have my kids and grandkids here, too.  But I feel loved no matter where everyone is geographically. Namaste’

Breathing in Sunbeams

I just came across this picture today that I took a while back.  We were visiting hubby’s sister in Nevada.  She’s a pet sitter and happened to be sitting for this cutie pie.  His name is Jazz and he certainly captured my heart.  His owner is the daughter of the great jazz musician, Miles Davis.

I call this one “Breathing in Sunbeams” because he looks like he’s taking in some angelic light, doesn’t he?  Namaste’
