TBT – I Love You

My daughter made me this card for my birthday last year. I’ll cherish it forever!

We worked together for the summer and absolutely had a blast. I came into the office on my birthday to find this on my desk. Made me cry ❤️

You’re the best, Michele! With love from a grateful Mom.

OK, It IS a Big Deal

I don’t usually make a big deal out of my birthday. Well, one of them I did … my 30th. Somehow I managed to celebrate for two weeks. (Please don’t ask me any questions about it because I’ll take the 5th) Ha!

But this year on this day, I’ll be celebrating by the Pacific Ocean, taking my Mom’s cremains to the sea. I celebrate her today so it IS a big deal.

She brought me into this world and taught me how to live in it. I am forever grateful, Mom.

Winter Solstice

Happy Birthday to my beautiful and loving daughter tomorrow, born on the Winter Solstice. (I’m posting this now because she and I will be spending the day together and I’m so very grateful that we can do that).

The winter solstice is the 1st Solar Power Point of the year. It marks a new solar cycle, a new beginning. It is an excellent time to do a ‘QUANTUM LEAP’ of consciousness to pass successfully through this major gateway.

It is this day when the light is shortest and the dark is longest. A perfect time to go within and reflect on gratitude, increased awareness, and how to serve humanity and our planet at this time in our accelerated growth.

I did not take this image but found it on Pixabay and donated to the man who shot this beautiful photograph. It spoke to me as the perfect image to represent this event. I believe it deserves to be seen by all.

So, Happy Birthday to my Winter Solstice baby and beautiful gift from God! I was merely the vessel to bring you here and it was my honor.

A Simple Wish

This day 43 years ago, I gave birth to my beautiful redhead.  Her father and I raced through Christmas shopper traffic to make it to the hospital on time.  We only had about an hour to spare before she made her grand entrance.  We came home from the hospital on Christmas Eve with our new little gift, all wrapped up in a Christmas stocking, courtesy of the Ladies Aid Society at the hospital.

As a little girl, she was teased about her red hair and freckles.  People even asked me if I dyed her hair.  What????

As each year passes, I realize how blessed I am and how I wouldn’t change anything about her or me and our relationship.

My simple wish for her is that every day, every moment of her life from here on out is filled with joy, peace, wonderful health, abundance, and all the love she so richly deserves.

Happy Birthday, Michele!  You are such a treasure and worth every labor pain I had 🙂

Happy Birthday to Hubby & Sis

Happy Birthday to my hubby and his twin sister.  Nobody’s telling their age but I think they both look great.  Carryl was born a whole half hour before Darryl.  And as babies, the story goes that he was always stealing her bottle.

There’s two to wash, two to dry;
There’s two who argue, two who cry….
There’s two to kiss, two to hug;
And best of all, there’s two to love!

16 Today

It’s my grandson’s 16th birthday today and it’s difficult for me to process that this much time has gone by already.  I didn’t take the top picture of him because he’s in California.  We may be separated by miles but not by memories.  Thought I’d share this handsome young man with all of you.  I love him so much.  (The bottom picture is one I took of him on his second birthday).  Namaste’

Balloons

Today is my birthday so I am …

Today is my [–th] birthday so I’m off to have some fun.  It would be nice if I could say I was flying to some exotic island, but alas, not the case this year.  Yet I’m grateful to be alive to celebrate one more birthday.  Rather than me list a litany of what I’m grateful for, just know that I am and that you all are on that list.

One of the gifts I got from WS (Wonderful Spouse) was some very cool and fun-to-use photo editing software.  So of course I used it to enhance my self-portrait for today.  Wouldn’t it be just too cool to be able to use a mouse on my face for real and get rid of wrinkles????  Woo Hoo! LOL!

Namaste’ and stay cool – wherever you are.

The Twins

My husband has a twin sister who is probably one of the sweetest people you’d ever want to know.  Their birthday was last Friday, which is why I wasn’t posting until today.  We spent that special occasion in Nevada where she lives.  Today’s photos speak for themselves.  One was taken when they were approximately four years old.  The one I took below that is my attempt at a recreation of the original.  They are so blessed to have each other.  And I am so pleased to have spent their birthday with them.  It’s good to be back to posting my 366 project – I have some catching up to do 🙂 Namaste’

Happy 12th, Miss Belle!

Today is our granddaughter’s 12th birthday and I honestly can’t figure out where all the time went.  I remember vividly the night she was born, though.  Her Dad and brother had just taken off in the boat to go fishing when Mommy went into labor.  I called the neighbor at the end of the inlet in hopes he could wave them down before they got out onto the lake.  Thank God he did.  As soon as they got back we all left for the hospital and it was only a few hours later that Annabelle was born.  I have to say that watching your daughter have a baby is rather nerve-racking – at least for me.  But through the years, even though I have never lived in the same state as they do, I have been blessed to spend some beautiful moments with Annabelle and her brother.  So Happy Birthday, Miss Belle.  Grammy and Gramps love you to the moon and back!  (These are some of my favorites of her, however, I probably have about 200 more).

Is It Really a Word?

Today’s photo is of a stamp that I use in some of my greeting cards.  So … is gazillion(s) really a word?  According to dictionary.com, it is!  It’s an informal noun (huh?) that means an extremely large indeterminate number.  I just stamped this all over the box that I’m sending our granddaughter’s birthday gifts in.  I think she’ll get the picture, don’t you?

Nothing but fun today!!!  Namaste’
