The Day That Time Stood Still

What if it’s true that we humans are the only life forms that experience linear time?  You don’t see birds, flowers, dogs, cats, or any other beings wearing watches, right?  And none of them have electronic devices to measure time.  They all live in the NOW.  This year I’m trying more and more to do that.  To be more conscious of where I am and what I’m doing, rather than doing things by rote.  I’m also trying to remember to just breathe in the moment of now.

I took this photo at a jewelry repair store here in town while WS was getting his watch repaired, and I thought it was pretty unique what the owner did with all of these “dead” watch faces.  The picture only shows a small portion of the entire wall.  Namaste’

Tick, Tick, Tick

Well, here it is, folks.  We’re on the downhill slope of 2012.  Just a few days to go.  We received a Christmas gift today from WS’s daughter in New Hampshire.  And one from my daughter in California.  But that will be a photo for tomorrow.

I’m afraid this image doesn’t do it justice – it’s simply a WOW! clock.  (Click to enlarge the picture) … Swarovsky crystal elements and it plays one of 48 different songs on the hour.  And yet it won’t do it once the lights in the room are out, so as not to wake us up during the night.  Pretty clever, eh?

I finally finished the horses.  I photographed 17 horses, all edited to be artsy, had prints made and then created 144 handmade cards out of the photos.  I’ll post some of the photos in the new year.

2013 is almost here! Namaste’

It’s About Time … Really!

Today’s photo was taken with my phone while I was shopping.  I can only imagine what the other shoppers were thinking as I was snapping pictures of this clock.  The reason I took it is because I feel that time is speeding up.  And it seems to me that since the beginning of this year, I’m feeling it more and more.  This picture reminds me to be present now.  As a fellow blogger pointed out, Ram Dass said, “What time is it?  NOW.  Where am I?  HERE.”  (Thanks, KT – it was such a needed reminder for me.)

What do you think?  I’d love to hear from you on this subject.  Please tell me I’m NOT the only one who is feeling this way.  Namaste’
