Throwback Thursday – Strength

In light of all the disasters that have taken place on our beautiful blue-green orb lately, I’m posting this image because to me it represents strength.

It’s been said (and I believe it) that what we focus on expands. Humanity has exhibited amazing strength in the aftermath of these disasters. Let’s continue to focus on that.

This image was taken when we lived in Sisters, OR and I was fascinated by the majesty and strength that the sculptor infused into his creation.

Succulent Horse

Yes, I know it’s been a while. I’ve been really busy with too many things to mention. Ugh!

This image is one I took the liberty of playing with. And you know me … I love to play! I used an image that I took of some succulent plants, applied a cartoon effect and used a horse overlay found in the BeFunky app. BeFunky is a very cool application for special effects on images. You can make collages, cards and all kinds of wonderful things.

I have the premium version ($24.95/yr) but you can do plenty of creative things in the free version. It’s also available as an Android app.

Change of Plans

Well, well, well … it’s nice to be back into the blogosphere!  Seems like I’ve been gone a long time.  As for the change of plans, I’ve decided to forego the weekly photo challenge for this year.  Too much going on to commit to that.

Instead I’m going to post some of my all-time fav’s that you may or may not have ever seen.

And so … without further adieu … these two images are of a life-size sculpture here in Sisters. I decided to feature one of these at my gallery site.  Namaste’

Out and About

While out and about we found a residential street close to a golf resort and for some reason, there was this statue.  I’m not sure why it’s there but there it was, big as life.  I didn’t see any kind of plaque anywhere with a description but neither the horse or the rider look like they’re having a good time 😦

I decide to add a sketch effect just for the heck of it.  Namaste’

Blue Horse

Today’s photo comes from our local Brake Max shop.  Whoever created this life-size horse statue and painted it did a really cool job. You have to walk by this as you enter the store and I’ve always wanted to photograph it.  I just happened to be there this time without a bunch of people around it.  I don’t have time right now to put all of the pics I took up here so I’ll add some to tomorrow’s post.  Namaste’
