Teach Them to Fail!

I couldn’t agree more. It seems these days everyone wants to be PC. Not me. I’m tired of it and I agree with Chad!

Little Buckaroo

Haven’t had much time to devote to blogging these days.  But I do miss all my blogger friends’ posts so I’m going to try and catch up in the near future 🙂

Today’s photo is one of my grandson when he was just a little guy.  His Mom sent this to me in one of those frames that you can record a message with.  In his little voice he said “I love you, Grammy.” It brings tears to my eyes every time.

He’s 17 now.  The time has flown by and I miss the “him and me that used to be.”  But we are all time travelers on this journey, moving forward in our own process of self-discovery, and each fork in the road takes us in new directions.  I love you, Little Buckaroo! I’m proud of the fine human being that you are.  Namaste’

Happy Easter

Just a quick note to wish all of my readers a warm, joyful and peaceful Easter.  Pray for the miracle of peace around the world.  (We all know it’s not about the bunnies, colored eggs and candy).

Frankly, I never understood how anyone could buy into the whole Easter Bunny thing.  Any kid with half a brain could figure out that bunnies just don’t lay eggs.  I’ve always thought there should be an Easter Duck because when I was a kid, my brother and I actually each got a duckling for Easter.  We loved those furry little creatures but they got too big and Grandpa told us they’d be better off living on a farm.  OMG!  I hope they didn’t get eaten.  I’d much rather think they lived to a ripe old age and died of natural causes.

This photo is of one of the beautiful flowers in a special arrangement sent to hubby and me by his boss and crew after Bud’s passing.  Such wonderful, caring people.  The bouquet was just beautiful.  I only added a slight antique effect.  Namaste’

Picky, Picky

This is another one of those signs that I saw in the restaurant on Sunday.  I thought it was so cute – it reminded me of the Little Rascals.  My brother and I watched that show faithfully as kids.  I miss those kind of TV shows.  If my brother was still with us, I’d search out one of the channels that runs the old shows and make him come over and watch the Little Rascals with me.  Most of the junk that’s airing these days is just that … junk.   Oh, yeah, and don’t get me started on the number and decibels of the commercials.  Namaste’

Fun with the Muse

Well, here I am again.  This time without the pressure of a photo a day … but how long did I last without posting a photo?  Only a couple of days!

I’d like you to meet my new muse.  In fact, that’s her name – Funky Monkey Muse.  I struggled with a name for her and while I was contemplating that, I decided to play with some editing software.  And of course this photo became my latest creation.  Made me laugh just to do it.  I hope it brings you at least a smile, too.

Maybe that’s what this new year should be all about … less struggle, more laughter, more light-heartedness.  More of feeling like a kid and being playful.  I’ll tip my hat to that.

Keep an eye out for more Funky Monkey Muse adventures.  I think she will travel with me.  Namaste’

Spooky Is the Word of the Day

I have the coolest neighbors!  They decorated their front yard for Halloween and were gracious enough to allow me to shoot some photos of their “guests.”  These kids are so creative how they put it all together.  So here they are … the kids and some of their ghoulish guests.  Happy Day Before Halloween!  Be sure to come to my house for some treats … no tricks please 🙂 Namaste’
