The Promise

With the promise of Spring around the corner, the Iris bulbs in the yard are beginning to break through.

This image is one I took in 2015, in keeping with my promise that no flowers will come into the house without being photographed. I simply added some thoughts to the image.

Did I mention we have snow flurries here today? I’m not a fan – haha! Just sayin.’

Wishing you all a remarkable Spring!

What Does That Mean Exactly?

At the end of my posts, I write a simple phrase – Be good to yourself and each other. Namaste’

It’s a simple reminder that we are all walking each other home. It’s about the journey and the souls we meet along the way. Nothing happens by chance. Everyone in our lives is there to be a lesson or a blessing. Some will be there briefly. Some will stay for a long time. Pay attention to the lesson or the blessing. We’re in this thing called Life together.

So what does Namaste’ mean exactly?  (Hint: it’s about love).

Circle of Friends

My circle of friends is small but tight. I value their love, their wit, their charm, their brutal honesty, their opinions, and so much more.

Acquaintances come and go and there’s value in that as well. But true friends are so rare. You know. The ones you see after time has passed and yet it feels like you haven’t missed a beat at all when you reunite.

My circle became smaller today and my heart is breaking. My only, and I mean only, consolation is that I know she is now a Guardian Angel. Keeping watch over us. Cheering us on. Laughing with us. Dancing with us. Singing with us.

We are not promised tomorrow. Live today.

Be good to yourself and each other. Namaste’

TBT – Stick Your Neck Out

07.17.15DesertTortoise

On this Throwback Thursday, I chose an image of this desert tortoise.

For the simple reason that she is not afraid to stick her neck out. She has to in order to survive.

It’s the same for human beings. If we stay inside our safe shells, there is no adventure, no real joy, no opening up of our sensory channels.

Follow your passions. Act on your ideas. The world needs your positive energy now in whatever expression you choose to share with the rest of us. We are all connected.

Close your eyes. Think of what you want. Make it into a scene. Evoke all your senses. Focus on details.

You attract what you love, hate or fear. Focus on love.

Be good to yourself and each other. Namaste’

Interview with God

In lieu of doing another Throwback Thursday, I wanted to share this video that I received from a friend this morning. I had seen it before but today with all that’s going on with hurricanes, fires, politics, and the world at large, it was such a profound reminder.

I believe in synchronicity … there are no accidents. This was given to me again for a reason. Enough said.

Be good to yourself and each other. Namaste’

TBT – I Love You

My daughter made me this card for my birthday last year. I’ll cherish it forever!

We worked together for the summer and absolutely had a blast. I came into the office on my birthday to find this on my desk. Made me cry ❤️

You’re the best, Michele! With love from a grateful Mom.

Life

My brother wasn’t the kind of guy to buy presents for people. He hated shopping and would rather give someone money to buy what they wanted. I always teased him about that 🙂

For my birthday in 2010 he gave me this necklace, just a few months before he passed away. I remember when I opened it I told him how much I loved it and he said, “I hope you always will, kid.” I was his little sister and he always called me that. Unless he was mad at me – LOL!

Looking back I think he knew that we were going to lose him and that his wish for me was to really live my life. I believe he knows that I am.

One of the main reasons I started this blog six years ago was to chronicle my life so that when I’m gone, my kids and grandkids will know what I was about. Maybe my life will be an inspiration for them to live theirs doing things and loving people that make their spirits soar.

The Human Computer

On this, the first anniversary of my Mom’s passing, I believe she would want me to share this with others. I just found it myself … today! If that’s a message from you, Mom, I read you loud and clear. XOXOX

Read on …

Customer: I really need some help. After much consideration, I’ve decided to install LOVE. Can you guide me through the process?

Tech Support: Yes, I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

Install Love on the Human Computer

Customer: Well, I’m not very technical, but I think I’m ready to install it now. What do I do?

Tech Support: The first step is to open your HEART. Have you located your HEART?

Customer: Yes, I have, but there are several other programs running right now. Is it okay to install while they are running?

Tech Support: What programs are running?

Customer: Let’s see… I have PAST-HURT.EXE, LOW-ESTEEM.EXE, GRUDGE.EXE, and RESENTMENT.EXE running now.

Tech Support: No problem. LOVE will gradually erase PAST-HURT.EXE from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory, but it will no longer disrupt other programs. LOVE will eventually overwrite LOW-ESTEEM.EXE with a module of its own called HIGH-ESTEEM.EXE. However, you have to completely turn off GRUDGE.EXE and RESENTMENT.EXE. Those programs prevent LOVE from being properly installed. Can you turn those off?

Customer: I don’t know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

Tech Support: My pleasure. Go to your Start menu and invoke FORGIVENESS.EXE. Do this as many times as necessary until it’s erased the programs you don’t want.

Customer: Okay, now LOVE has started installing itself automatically. Is that normal?

Tech Support: Yes. You should receive a message that says it will stay installed for the life of your HEART. Do you see that message?

Customer: Yes, I do. Is it completely installed?

Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other HEARTS in order to get the upgrades.

Customer: Oops. I have an error message already. What should I do?

Tech Support: What does the message say?

Customer: It says, “ERROR 412-PROGRAM NOT RUN ON INTERNAL COMPONENTS.” What does that mean?

Tech Support: Don’t worry, that’s a common problem. It means that the LOVE program is set up to run on external HEARTS but has not yet been run on your HEART. It is one of those complicated programming things, but in non-technical terms it means you have to “LOVE” your own machine before it can “LOVE” others.

Customer: So what should I do?

Tech Support: Can you pull down the directory called “SELF-ACCEPTANCE”?

Customer: Yes, I have it.

Tech Support: Excellent. You’re getting good at this. Now, click on the following files and then copy them to the “MYHEART” directory: FORGIVE-SELF.DOC, REALIZE-WORTH.TXT, and ACKNOWLEDGE-LIMITATIONS.DOC. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching any faulty programming. Also, you need to delete SELF-CRITICISM.EXE from all directories, and then empty your recycle bin afterwards to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.

Customer: Got it. Hey! My HEART is filling up with new files. SMILE.MP3 is playing on my monitor right now and it shows that PEACE.EXE, and CONTENTMENT.EXE are copying themselves all over my HEART. Is this normal?

Tech Support: Sometimes. For others it takes a while, but eventually everything gets downloaded at the proper time. So, LOVE is installed and running. You should be able to handle it from here. Ah, one more thing.

Customer: Yes?

Tech Support: LOVE is freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everybody you meet. They will in turn share it with other people and they will return some similarly cool modules back to you.

Customer: I will! Thanks for your help!

Misc

I’ve taken some of my images and played today. Included in this collage is my granddaughter sipping on some Hawaiian ice in Honolulu, a flower from my garden in memory of those killed in the 9-11 attacks, an old Chevy truck on Alcatraz in San Franciso, our dog Foxy, who went to the Rainbow Bridge in 2013, and Daisy sniffing my tulip arrangement.

Say a prayer today for the loved ones of the 9-11 victims, whose lives were inflicted with unfathomable pain. Hug every member of your family and remind them how much you love them.

Be good to yourself and each other. Namaste’
