Day Three of Seven

Day Three’s image is a Harris Hawk, spied one morning as I was watching the sunrise with our beloved dogs, Daisy and Foxy.

I zoomed out as far as I could so that I didn’t scare it off with movement. Fortunately for me, I had my camera handy. You’re not surprised, are you? Haha!

Was he looking at me while I was looking at him? Maybe. Eyes like a hawk …

Sometimes I Need a Gentle Reminder

Mother Teresa’s Anyway Poem

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

Today’s photo is of a magnifying glass that I purchased not long ago.  It just spoke to me because of the way it is made, the weight of it in my hand, and the excellent glass that was put into it.  It REALLY magnifies.  Kind of like how Mother Teresa’s poem can magnify our lives.  Namaste’

Before the Rain

The weather reports all say we’re supposed to have some big rain tonight and tomorrow.  I’m ready.  As far as I’m concerned, we never get enough. This photo was taken in my back yard as the sun started to peek under the early evening clouds. I hope the birds have some place nice and warm and dry when the rains come.

Sometimes the light just plays perfectly for the camera and the subject.  This was one of those times.  Namaste’
