Orange and Green

Today’s image is of some delicate little flowers that look like birds to me.  They caught my eye as I was coming out of the bank and I think the contrast of orange and green is quite nice.  Life is just full of contrast, isn’t it?  I’ll bet if we all took one hour of being out in nature, we could see at least 100 ways she displays contrast. Blooms Don’t Blink

A good friend of ours used to own a flower shop in San Francisco, so whenever I take a photo of a bloom, I think of her and wonder how she would arrange this kind of flower with others into a stunning arrangement.  She has given me lots of insight into the world of flowers and I appreciate that.

Photographing flowers and plants comes relatively easy for most people because the blooms don’t blink, fidget, look away, or any of the things we have to watch for when shooting pictures of people and pets.

Most often I take the liberty of applying some special effects to my floral photos.  With this one, I converted it to black and white and then brought out the center in color and used a black background.
