More from the Chinese restaurant

Here’s a couple more from our food adventure the other day in the Chinese restaurant.  A couple people have asked me what these wall art pieces are made of.  From what I could tell when I touched them, it felt like acrylic.  Whoever did them was very artistic.  Namaste’

What you can find in a Chinese restaurant besides food

The other day hubby and I decided to have some Chinese food and, since I don’t cook it :-), we thought we’d better go out.  The food is really good there … the best pot stickers around!

While waiting for our meals, I noticed the wall hangings and decided to capture some images.

Red Foxy

Well, as all of my readers know by now, it’s no secret that I love chocolate.  So while we were in Tubac being tourists, we just happened to find Red Fox fudge.  And since I can’t stand to NOT take pictures, I snapped this one of the box of fudge.  Hubby had some ice cream, too.  No wonder our clothes are all too tight – LOL!

Side note:  The first time I went to New Orleans, I discovered beignets and all of the other wonderful foods that punctuate that city.  I was there for a week and at the end of the week had to attend a formal dinner.  Oops!  The dress I had brought to wear was ever so snug by the time I ate my way through New Orleans.  I had to call for help to get it zipped and I’m not kidding. But I had the time of my life and never regretted having to sit through that dinner holding my stomach in.  Ha!

As you might notice in the photo, I took the liberty of changing the name to Red Foxy from Red Fox.  Just thought it was fun and I did it cause I could 🙂  Namaste’

Iron Horse

When hubby’s twin sister was here visiting, we decided to go to Tubac AZ.  It’s a wonderful artist community where you can find original works of art of all genres and some really great restaurants, too. I love it there and if I was wealthy, I would buy something from every store 🙂  All of the shop owners and artists we met were so nice and helpful with information about their offerings.  If you’re ever in southern Arizona and want to spend a lovely day, Tubac is the place to go.  Just don’t do it in the summer; way too hot!

The photo is of a horse and his sidekick, complete with sombrero and guitar, that I spied along one of the streets.  This particular piece was priced at $3800. Sounds pricey but the work that went into this had to be huge.

I’ll be adding more photos from our visit there as time goes on.  Namaste’

Balanced Diet

Wouldn’t you just love to go back to the days when you didn’t have to worry about what you ate?  Not a care in the world about getting enough of this vitamin or that vitamin?  Or not worrying about low-carb, low-fat, or high protein, Paleo, green coffee bean, etc. diets?  Well, I’m here to say that this sign took me back to those carefree days this morning.  It hangs in our favorite breakfast place … Jethro’s.

When I was a young and skinny kid, my best friend and I would scrounge up enough nickels and dimes to go to the local food store and buy a Pepsi in a glass bottle and a package of Hostess cupcakes.  Of course, that was back in the day when nothing had high fructose corn syrup.  Yeah, that was a lot of sugar but we burned it off riding our bikes all day long.  I miss those days.  I still like Pepsi but don’t drink it much.  If I do, it’s their throwback version, made with sugar instead of HFCS.  As for the cupcakes, well, they just don’t taste the same as they did back then, so I don’t eat them very often either.

Hope you’re having a great weekend.  If the Falcons and the Ravens win their games today, we’ll have a “bird bowl” on Super Bowl Sunday.  Personally I’m a fan of the 49’ers AND the Patriots, so if they win today, (and both teams are favored to win) I’ll find myself in quite a quandry.  Yikes!  Namaste’

Morning Bun in the Afternoon

Cold and overcast day so I decided to go with WS over to the local barista and have some coffee and a snack this afternoon.  This morning bun caught my eye and it sure tasted good; I ate the whole thing.  So what if it was 2:30 in the afternoon!

We then came home and took down some Christmas decorations.  Kind of a lazy day.  I liked it.  Hope yours was really good as well.  Namaste’

Just Desserts

Oh, my! I guess this isn’t the time of year to worry about dieting.  So I don’t – ha ha!  While having lunch with a friend, I noticed that when I put my glasses down on the menu, the lens landed on the word desserts.  What do you know!  I love desserts.  Diet downfall.

The second photo is of the moon glow last night on the clouds.  Full moon + lacy clouds = dreamy shot. In my opinion there’s no light like moonlight.  Namaste’

Two Pea Wees

I just had to post these and hope my friend (in the first photo) will not disown me.  I love you, Pat!  This was all just fun on our road trip.  Yep, that’s me in the bottom shot.

Hope all is well with all of you.  Namaste’

Stand On Your Head

While waiting outside a restaurant, I turned around and there was this crazy sign. I thought I was seeing things but it truly was bolted to the wall upside down.  Somebody had way too much time on their hands.  Namaste’

I’m in Trouble Now …

Just as I headed home today, looking for something that would make a good Tuesday photo, I came across something new … brand new.  Taco Bell … and it’s fairly close to my house.  Uh-oh, is their menu on my low-carb diet?  Something I’ll have to investigate.  Why?  Because I love their plain, simple, crunchy tacos.  I wish I wasn’t a fan, but alas, I am.  I could be in big trouble now. If only I can practice some restraint – LOL.

Today’s photos are of the wall that separates their drive-through and a place to sit and eat outside.  The second one is up close.  I really like what the artist did here.  Makes it inviting to sit there (when it’s not blistering hot outside).

I know you must be asking if I bought some tacos and the answer is no.  But the day isn’t over yet.  Namaste’
