Succulent Horse

Yes, I know it’s been a while. I’ve been really busy with too many things to mention. Ugh!

This image is one I took the liberty of playing with. And you know me … I love to play! I used an image that I took of some succulent plants, applied a cartoon effect and used a horse overlay found in the BeFunky app. BeFunky is a very cool application for special effects on images. You can make collages, cards and all kinds of wonderful things.

I have the premium version ($24.95/yr) but you can do plenty of creative things in the free version. It’s also available as an Android app.

Be good to yourself and each other. Namaste’

Serene Sunflower

Every once in a while I take to cleaning out files, which includes photos on my hard drive.  Today I spent a little time doing that and came across a folder of plants and flowers.  Looking through that folder, I discovered one of the first series that I did with sunflowers, adding some special effects and playing with the color.  This is one of my favorites that I’ve had printed quite often for cards.  Namaste’

About Today

Thanksgiving is about food for lots of people.  Well, I like it, too, that’s for sure, but it’s about more for me.  I don’t want to get philosophical but it’s always a day where memories of Thanksgivings past flood my mind.  I remember all of my loved ones that have gone on to the other side and the ones still with us but living far away.  As I prayed the blessing today at the table, I felt them all with me.  I think all relationships are holy ground.  Even the Thanksgiving at my grandmother’s house when me and my sister-in-law peeled 20 lbs. of potatoes.  Back then there were 17 of us all at the table.  A lot of work yet so much fun.

I didn’t get out to take any shots today since I did all the cooking, but I did manage to get the last of the flowers in the back yard and added a slight special effect.  Hope you all who celebrate this day had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Namaste’

Special Effect

I truly believe that we all have a special effect on each other.  One thought, one prayer, one blessing, one wish … that’s all it takes to raise (or lower) the vibration of you and the person you’re sending your thoughts to.

The reason I say this today is that it’s Saturday and I spent a few hours with my parents.  Before I walk in their door, I always have to send out light and love to light my way and theirs.  If I don’t, the negativity takes over and it’s unhealthy for all of us.  Maybe it’s our guardian angels.  Maybe it’s our spirit guides.  But a force larger than us takes over and it becomes a pleasant visit.  I love them.  I wish they were healthier, more vibrant, more in love with life.  I can’t change what’s going on for them.  I can only influence how I behave in any given situation.  But I don’t do it alone.

BTW, my WS started a blog.  Yeah!  Go on over and check it out: Darryl’s Blog. And if you’re so inclined, LIKE his Facebook page.  Thanks! Let me know what you think of the header image.  That was my contribution 🙂

Today’s photo is a stencil special effect that I applied to a simple still life.  Namaste’

Light Play

While out and about today, I parked next to some Oleander bushes and the morning light was playing with their pretty pink blooms.  I’ve heard that Oleander can be poisonous if ingested by animals.  Is it the same for people?  I’m not going to test it 🙂  I’ll stick to photographing it and then adding some special effects.  One of the shots I took of this is now my new header.  You know me … I like to change things up once in a while.

I decided to put a similar version of this one up for sale at my gallery: http://imagesbyregina.artistwebsites.com/featured/light-play-regina-arnold.html

Be well and stay blessed.  Namaste’

Mirror, Mirror …

This is what I call a “diva” mirror, which hangs on the wall in my bathroom.  I had lots of fun playing with some special effects on this one.  I actually did one similar to this and ordered some prints today so that I can send one to my granddaughter.  Shhhhh!  Don’t tell her.  She’s a diva in her own right 🙂  Happy Saturday and Namaste’
