It Happened for Real

  1. The first time I saw snow fall from the sky was 1973. Lenny and I were on the way up to Big Bear for the weekend to play in the snow and we stopped at a gas station. I got out of the car and was standing with my arm outstretched and my face to the heavans. Just like Tom Robbins in the

Shawshank Redemption. Lenny came out of the gas station (In the days when you had to go inside to pay) and said, “Get in the car! You look like a crazy person!”

And there, is the difference between people who grew up in the Mid-West shoveling snow as a child and A CALIFORNIA GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
